Matrak's project copy feature streamlines your project setup phase by allowing you to duplicate existing projects in the system. This makes it easier and faster for you and your team to get started.

Before jumping into your new project workspace, you might want to customize your project by adding record types. Record types function like templates for your Matrak records, each with a unique ID and status field. When starting a new project, creating record types from scratch can be overwhelming — so we've streamlined the process with the project copy functionality. Quickly copy a previous project to transfer all record types and relevant information from the selected project, helping you begin your new project efficiently.

Step- by-step instructions on how to copy a project:

Step 1: Create a new project: To copy a project, you'll need to first navigate to Matrak's project setup page. You can get here either by:

A. Selecting the "create a new project" from Matrak's sign in screen

B. Selecting the “create a new project" from your project dropdown list in your main header navigation bar

Step 2: Project Name: Once on the Project Setup page, begin by entering your new project's name.

Step 3: Select a project to copy: From the Not your first project dropdown list, select a previous project to copy. This will bring over all record types and relevant information from the selected project, streamlining the setup process.

Note: When copying a project, drawings will not be included — only record types will be transferred to the new project.

Step 4: Clone your new project: Select the Skip setup and clone project button to automatically create your new project with pre-populated record types from the copied project. Based on your selection, your new project will include the same record types, allowing you to get started quickly.

Edit your record types

Now that you're all set up and your project has been creating it's time to start tracking.

Your project will be pre-populated with relevant record types, but you can add or edit these directly from your Edit Record types page.
